A weekend South

I had the lovely opportunity to travel to South Florida this weekend. I’d been trying to reconnect with a friend every since I came back to the US it seems and it just hasn’t worked out. Well, this weekend it worked and I got to spend a lovely day with her and her husband (of 5 years I believe), whom I just met that day.

It’s always fun exploring new places and flavors with someone, especially when they know the area as well. I had a yummy tortellini in alfredo sauce with peas, ham and mushrooms and they were adventurous and tried the lobster special. Hey, once in a life time kind of deal. 🙂 Then we found Italian gellato that was reminiscent to 4D in Peru….¡Ay cielos! ¡Estaba en el cielo! 🙂

I wasn’t this greedy this time, but it was just as delicious!

Julie and I also stayed up chatting until about midnight. It’s always great to talk with her. I learn a lot and we have fun. Just like when we first met and I probably asked her the oddest questions about her experiences in South America.

Then it was on to Miami to visit long time family friends. I probably hadn’t seen them in 15 years but since I’m an adult and on my own I have to maintain my friendships, and not just my parents. So since I was in the area I swung by to say hi. I have to say, it’s always fun being with people who know my mom as Joanie. 🙂 There’s just something that takes you back to childhood and fond memories with that name.

I’m back home now, glad that my knee can rest after that drive. A week left before vacation comes which equals wedding, chaos, and munchkins!

About Traveling Mosaic

I'm on a journey in this world, hence the "Traveling" part of the name. My life is also made up of pieces that, when the Master completes it, will be a beautiful Masterpiece, hence "Mosaic."
