Picking up pennies

I confess, I pick up pennies on the ground. Or whatever piece of change happens to be lying there. One time I actually found $20! Granted, I was in a store in front of a cash register but the owner returned it to me when no one claimed it – a good lesson in honesty for a young child.

On Sunday, my pastor made the same confession but asked us: “Do we see value in something that others consider worthless?” Hmmm, do I?

Do I see value in the 2,000+ languages that many people will say aren’t worth the time to put Scripture in their own language? Yes!

Do I see value in the homeless person walking the street? I try to.

Do I see value in what God sees value? Or do I see worthlessness? A challenging question. May we all be able to see value in what God sees as treasures. Perhaps next time a simple penny on the ground will pause us to reflect. And remember, you are treasured by Him!

About Traveling Mosaic

I'm on a journey in this world, hence the "Traveling" part of the name. My life is also made up of pieces that, when the Master completes it, will be a beautiful Masterpiece, hence "Mosaic."
