Jehovah Jireh is the name of God for this month I think. God who Provides – He relishes in meeting our needs and even our wants. Here are some special ones for me this month.
A Car – In multiple ways he’s done this for me. First, with the rental after my accident. Currently, a friend is loaning me her car since I’m house/pet sitting for her for the month. And I found a car too! It has what I wanted and wouldn’t change (manual transmission, cruise control) plus my extras that I told God shyly that I’d really like (power windows, locks, sunroof).
He showed me in an answer to a prayer from this summer that I’d specifically asked for things and he had given me that, so it gave me the courage to ask specifically for what I wanted in a car. Added bonus? A LivingSocial deal is going to allow me to tint the windows too. Wow, incredible! All within the price point I had set. I don’t have the car yet, but I’ll pick it up in the next week or so.
A Visit to see the Lil’ Sis – My little sister graduates from her training just before Thanksgiving and I wanted to go see her since I haven’t seen her since Christmas. Unfortunately, the tickets were way past what I could afford. But recently we found out that I could use a travel voucher she had (thanks, Delta!) and my parents covered the other half. Excited to see her!
An Anonymous Gift – I love how God likes to keep things hidden sometimes, although for the curious side of me, I don’t like it at the same time. 🙂 But someone blessed me with a large financial gift – Thank you! There have been other unexpected gifts recently as well, and I’m amazed how God speaks to people’s hearts as He knows the extra medical bills, car repairs, etc., that I will face. I am blessed to have many people partnering with me and I know that God is returning those blessings to you as well!
Visits with a Friend – It’s always fun being with friends, but this one was extra special for many reasons. I got to go camping, explore old civil war forts, go to the beach, talk….even visit Bass Pro Shops for the first time. (Camping section could be dangerous….) Being out in nature fills me up and reminds me of the Creator God. Hanging out with friends fills up my relationship tank. Did I mention that camping is a favorite past time?
And I learned a new game I’ll leave you with: Next time you go to the Flea Market (or go just to do this!), set a dollar limit, no more than $5. Pick a person who will be the judge of who gets the best item for the least cost – helpful if this person is non-partisan. Then wander and see what you find and see who wins. I won with a $1 and multi-lingual UNO cards….over a broken dart board and darts. 🙂 Hehe!
