Every day at Wycliffe we meet together for prayer/praise and devotions. On Monday, Jennifer read from Joshua 1 and mentioned how the Israelites were given the land that they walked across or scouted out. What I didn’t realize is that they only walked about 1/3 of the land, so they were missing out on all that God wanted to give them.
How much do we miss out on because we are short-sighted? God imagines more for us but are we limiting Him by not “walking the land”? How am I limiting God by not claiming His promises or goodness?
It reminds me of a story I heard long ago about a man who, when he arrived in heaven, God showed him a room filled with gifts. “What are these gifts, God?” he asked. God replied: “These are all the blessings I wanted to give you but you never asked for them.”
God imagines more for me. How can I live today in the fulness of His provision and desire for my life?
