Chips and Salsa – the heavenly kind

B made salsa today to use up the stale potato chips – sinus clearing, yummy salsa. Not being a fan of potato chips I quickly googled how to make your own tortillas and tortilla chips. It’s been way too long since I had chips and salsa. The result? The most amazing tortilla chips I have ever eaten!

I used this recipe from Taste of Home that calls for olive oil to make the tortillas. I fried them in leftover-from-french-fry-frying sunflower oil. The others I baked in the oven. I don’t know what it was but the fried ones are better than MSG, crack, with-a-cherry-on-top  whatever phrase you use. Seriously, melted upon eating them and having the HARDEST time staying out of them.

B and I both agree that the 1 ½ hours it took to make the chips and salsa were well worth it. Sometimes you put in the extra effort to make something from home that you miss. It keeps you going. 🙂

About Traveling Mosaic

I'm on a journey in this world, hence the "Traveling" part of the name. My life is also made up of pieces that, when the Master completes it, will be a beautiful Masterpiece, hence "Mosaic."
