There is a gal I know who shows up occasionally in my life. Well, in actuality she’s always present but I only occasionally notice she’s there. She’s very adaptable and quickly finds things to be “normal.”
I first met her, I think, some time after I moved to South America. She found life living in a tiny room, sharing a twin bed, no running water, rare electricity, no internet or phone as normal. And she thrived despite the adversity she faced.
This week I moved and discovered her again. A year of rare self-flushing toilets and bucket showers was her normal. Only when I realized I had a toilet that flushed and water pressure did I realize she was there again.
Yet despite the lack of conveniences I find a way to thrive. I find a way to adapt. (Yes, that gal is me.) Or, in the case of our washing machine, I get creative and eat pudding!
What an amazing woman God has designed you to be…PERFECT for His calling on your life at this time. May you continue to thrive as “God’s coworker” keeping your eyes on Him and empowered by His Spirit to embrace your reality and rejoice in it.
Thanks for sharing with us, Lisa. It is such a blessing to watch God’s unfolding work through your sweet life.
With love, Elaine Bell
