Ever wonder what life and work is like on a day to day basis? Well, besides the emails, reports, budgets, story writing, Skype calls…..sometimes our job is to stop and enjoy company. Often team members are in town and our house is a regular stopping point.
Before, when we had extra rooms, our house also served as a place to sleep for those coming from out of town. We often get asked why we have so much food in the house (no where near enough for contingency but full anyway) and our answer is: “How often do we have guests stop by that we need to feed?”
So yesterday was no different when Mohammed stopped by and hung out for several hours. Reports and emails got set aside as we fellowship and heard what’s going on. (Also a great language learning opportunity for me)
And then there are days like today. Going into day three of no water again we were excited to have the water on in the late morning. So work dropped as we worked to fill up our barrels that were nearing empty, wash clothes, shower, and clean.
By the time dinner came around this is what we pulled off:
Vegetable, starch, and some protein. I also managed a Mt. Vesuvius soda explosion that required a shower…..to find the water is off again before its normal evening hour. Así es la vida!
